A beloved and celebrated artist throughout Greece, Chrysoula Kechagioglou marks more than 30 years in music with the release of a new album called Apothiki (Storeroom). Featuring 13 original, soulful ballads, the collection draws deeply from both Greek and American folk traditions. Through rich melodies and heartfelt lyrics, the songs reflect on the passage of time, the softening of bitterness and cynicism, and the rediscovery of bravery, tenderness, and playfulness.

The first official single, “Palermo”, is about the footprint that people leave behind when their life ends. Rather than being mournful, the song reflects on the small, characteristic gestures and objects that people leave behind when they pass and the realisation that death is not that important when all we have is life.
